Founder and director of DAMASE Ltd, a creative company focusing on design and technical innovation in high-end Jewellery and holder of a patent on a series of Innovative methods of production for diamond jewellery, Roux-Fouillet is currently working as independent artist and jewellery designer at his London-based studio as well as consulting for various artists and jewellery companies including Sir Antony Gormley and Harry Winston.
Times Magazine has described his work as “Enchanting and practical: it’s the combination of style and substance that ultimately creates the beauty of the design.”
David is currently a lecturer, tutor and project leader at the Royal College of Art - London, Kyoto University of Art and Design and Haute Ecole d’Art et Design Geneva.
Roux-Fouillet’s work has been widely exhibited throughout the UK and internationally with both solo and group exhibitions at Art Basel, Basel (2016); Museu del Disseny, Barcelona (2015); Stedelijk Museum, ’s-Hertogenbosch (2015); Museum of Art and Design, New York (2014); Espacio Odeon, Bogota (2014); Akademie der Bildene Kunste, Munich (2014); Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Le Louvre, Paris (2013); Stedelijk Museum, ’s-Hertogenbosch (2013); Aram Gallery, London (2012); BWA Contemporary art Museum, Katowice (2012); Masterpieces, London (2012); The Design Museum, London (2011); Victoria & Albert Museum, London (2011); Espace Arlaud, Lausanne (2007); Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (2006).
Roux-Fouillet was awarded the Marsee Prize in 2003, the Lissignol-Chevalier et Galland Prize for best design in 2006, the Direktør Ib Henriksens Grant in 2009, the Beckett award in 2009, the Grundtvig Grant in 2010, the Theo Fennell Award for Overall Excellence in 2011, the Conran Award in 2011, the Piet Hein Verspyck Mijnssen Prize in 2012 and the Innovation-RCA Research & innovation Grant in 2013.
